Review: the perks of being a wallflower + news!

Hello guys!

So obviously it's been a long time... But I've read some good books meanwhile!

The one I liked the most was definitely The perks of being a wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. It was recommended to me by Steven (shoutout!) and I FINALLY got round to reading it, it was so worth it! It tells the story of Charlie, a really innocent, sweet teenager who doesn't know how intelligent he is and how he "conquers" love, sex, friends and parties. It's not a typical young adult romance AT ALL, and anyone who loves Eleanor&Park or All the Bright Places will fall in love with it, 'cause I would rate this book 9.1/10!

During these months I've also watched some movies, such as La la land and Beauty and the Beast and I guess they weren't too bad! I love Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone together and La la land's ending is amazing. In B&B, Emma Watson is simply gorgeous as Belle, although the story IS kind of childish sometimes.

Anyway, see you soon! I'm posting a book tag next!

Winter wrap up: Twilight saga, All the bright places, and more!

Oh my gosh you guys...

Happy 2017! First things first, I have to reckon I'm not really putting so much effort into the blog nowadays, but I'll try to post something from time to time <3

So, as usual, I've been reading a ton... Just scroll down to see the reviews I have for you!

1.Twilight (saga) by Stephanie Meyer
I read all of the books apart from the last one when I was on holiday, and I seriously think they're not worth the hype! The story is really simple, the love triangle isn't interesting at all and it's as light as you can get with teenage novels! 4.5/10 maybe?

2. Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard
I was really surprised by this book... even though there's no romance in it, it's an amazing, powerful story that focuses on love between friends. It also has a fresh touch that only new writers possess, and I cannot wait to read Sara Barnard's next novel! 7.5/10 :)

3. Everything, everything by Nicola Yoon
I had read lots of good reviews about this book, and they were kind of worth it... but not entirely. With a shocking (and also not the most convincing) plot twist, this story is almost perfect, but sometimes "an almost" can mark the difference. Still, I really recommend it and will read Nicola's second book soon. 7,85/10 ...yay!

4. All the bright places by Jennifer Niven
A totally beautiful book thats just needs a little "oomph" to be crazy amazing! Anyway, approaching suicide (a sensitive issue) in a very different way, this novel makes you fall in love with both characters, especially the person who makes Ultraviolet Remarkeyable smile again. Might make you sad, but who cares? You shouldn't miss a story like this!  7,99/10 yass<3

There you go, hope you read some of these and enjoy them as much (or as little *cough* twilight *cough*) as I did! XO's!

The Harry Potter TAG + HP and the Cursed Child!

Hey there fellow potterheads!

This post is AAAALLLL about Harry Potter... that character who has made us laugh, cry, and is just pure magic.

I read the latest book this summer and 'til now didn't make a post about it oops *pug life face*

Anyway, I have to say that I really liked it and that I (BIG SPOILER ALERT!) loved meeting Snape again oh my gaaawd I had missed him so much lol. Also, for all of those who think the plot twist was disappointing: I thought it was awesome! So if you haven't yet, go read that book right now! Scorpius is so adorable right?

Soooo let's start with the HP tag (I got the questions from here and there btw)

1. Favourite book?
Many say that the collection goes from up to down, but Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is definitely my fave, there were so many heart-wrenching moments in that book I can't...

2. Least favourite book?
Easy question. I hate Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix because of Dolores Umbridge. Nasty woman, her name (dolor means pain in Spanish) couldn't be more adequate. When she was punishing Harry I was hurt too :'(

3. Part of the books that made you cry?
When Snape's true story was revealed I had the Pacific Ocean inside and was convinced that true love exists.

4. The best quote?
Obviously, "After all this time? Always". Quotes can't get better than that.

5. If you could hook up with any character, who would it be?
I'd use a time-turner: Sirius Black when he was young. He was totally haaaawwwwt.

6. House? Patronus?
I'm a proud Gryffindor (my parents are Slytherin and Ravenclaw lol) and my patronus is a dapple-grey mare.

7. Which Deathly Hallow?
Invisibility cloak! Now that would be fun... *mischievous grin*

8. Best character?
I know this is getting repetitive, but Snape (duh!). He's just...

9. Spell you would like to learn?
I'd love to learn apparition but I'd look like a giant marshmallow then, so better expelliarmus. "Your smile is like an expelliarmus, simple but disarming."

10. How much does Harry Potter mean to you?
It is everything. Hogwarts is my home. Potterhead from the sky to the underground lol. I'M SURE THAT MY LETTER FROM HOGWARTS JUST GOT LOST IN THE MAIL!

So that's it... Tell me if you liked the tag and if you want me to do more!

WRAP UP: October reads!

Hi guys!

SO... fall aka autumn is here! It's time for all those #basic things everyone has this season lol... Pumpkin Spice Lattes, candles, chunky sweaters and non-stop talk about Halloween (any costume ideas?) WHEEE!

Anyway,  I've been reading quite a lot lately (unusual, huh?) so I decided to do a general monthly wrap up with different reviews. Here it goes!

1. The cuckoo's calling
If you thought J.K. Rowling only knew how to write fantasy... Well, you were wrong! This book has a character with a very developed personality, a murder and a shocking ending. The three perfect ingredients for an amazing novel, right? I totally recommend this!

2. City of Bones
By Cassandra Clare, the first book of the Shadowhunters or Mortal Instruments is popular all over the world. Is it worth the hype? Not really, at least for me. The plot twist is pretty simple and it isn't too interesting. But it is a nice easy read, especially for younger teens.

3. El chico de las estrellas
This book is in Spanish and it is one of the stories that makes you teary-eyed... Thanks, Chris Pueyo. Plus it is written in beautiful blue ink, the front cover is just perfect and there are some really poetic quotes in there. What else can you ask for?

I hope you liked this post, and please give it a like or comment if you want me to do wrap-ups each month, or maybe every season.

Blogging again!

Hi people,

As you can see, I've been missing for a long, long, while... But you might also see some changes in the blog, right?

I decided I wanted to touch up things a little bit, and finally kinda updated everything. But I don't mind! I really like this new look and changes are always good! I'm also writing from another account, as you may notice. It is a new one, and I'll probably use it from now on.

So, why have I disappeared for, like, a month? Well, here is the answer...
It is actually quite simple: I wasn't really motivated to write and slowly getting bored of my blog. From today I'll blog more constantly, promise, and whenever I go to a nice library I'll post pics from my phone (I've got the mobile blogger app now! Wheee!)

Big things are coming for BooksMyLife, I've got lots of projects buzzing around like noisy bees in my head (Whoa, that was a good comparison... Lol jk.) Soon, maybe this week, you'll read (hint hint!) the first one. Stay alert!

Anyway, welcome to the new BooksMyLife.

~Books are not my whole life, they make my life whole~

Love you.

All good things end...

Hello my babes,

I'm here! Yes, I know, it's been ages, I'm sorry, blah blah blah... But I've got a good excuse!

I've been in two camps (not in a row, but only with a week between them) and just arrived home yesterday.

The first one had a theatre/theater theme: I love acting, since it is a good "confidence boost", if you guys know what I mean: when I act I don't need to worry about myself and I can swap personalities!

The second one was about music, and I've been attending this one for three years already... but it's always amazing! In a very short amount of time you learn so much, it's incredible!

I've loved both camps, and I'm sure that if you guys have been camping too, you'll understand me. You meet new people, learn, and have a small "break" (haha) from your parents... what else can you ask for? They are unique experiences that I would recommend to anyone! Plus, they make your summer unforgettable!

So that's it for today. xxx

P.S. I'm currently re-reading Harry Potter :)
P.P.S. I miss my friends from camp so much it hurts... It was the first time in my life I was with people my age who love reading <3
